He ever wished that right on earth prevail,
Except when evil wore a beauteous form –
Or when great fury would his head assail
When standing for the truth meant fearful storm,
And championing the right meant risk of harm.
One other thing the knight could never stand,
When right was wrought by might of comrade’s arm,
Or brought by any other’s strong right hand.
So wished this knight for justice in the land.
